I is like my new Death Note wallet. I is also like that EW mentioned this:
Color-Blind Casting
Hard to believe baby-faced singer Jesse McCartney could cause an uproar of any kind. But news that the 21-year-old would take on the role of the evil prince Zuko in director M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender, his big-screen adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon series, has sent fans into a tizzy. Their beef: Asian and Inuit cultures permeate the series, yet none of the film's four leads (McCartney, Twilight's Jackson Rathbone, Nicola Peltz, and newcomer Noah Ringer) are of Asian descent. EW.com's Dec. 9 original report generated nearly 850 predominantly negative comments, and a letter-writing campaign directed at producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall has begun. Paramount declined comment, other than to say that casting isn't complete. Though I still haven't gotten around to writing a letter, myself. I really need to do that.
In other news... today I finally updated my Pokemon gallery with caps of Dawn and Jessie (as Jessalinda) from Saturday's new episode of Pokemon. I must say, I think Grimer likes Dawn a little too much, and I know I like Jessalinda a little too much. Also, last night I started moving fanart out of the pokemon subdirectory on my site, and into a new pokefan subdirectory (because damn, there's just too much stuff in the pokemon directory, not that I'm likely to stop adding to it anytime soon). But the annoying thing about Angelfire is you can only move files to top-level directories, not subdirectories, which means I must save all files to my computer from my site, then upload them to the new directory, then delete them from the old directory. Which is terribly time-consuming. Especially when I'm simultaneously reorganizing the links to the images... Anyway, I moved Hikari's page and the Group page last night. Still got plenty more to do, though. Maybe I can get to that today before work, we'll see. |
