Ben 10: Alien Force. The show continues to be dark, making it hard to make halfway decent caps. But whatever. Gwen 45-47e today. As for the story... something very sad seems to have happened.

Blue Dragon. Zola 68a-73. And Bouquet 28... one of those annoying things where the DVD-R doesn't make a very clean recording. Well, it's a pan-up, and the topmost cap was clear enough, so the whole composite image isn't entirely consistent in quality. This is easier to tell in the full version than in the smaller version.

Code Geass. Finally started the gallery, with caps from the first few eps. Of course there's another new episode tonight. Um... Meanwhile, in last week's ep Kallen had a shower scene which was more revealing than I would've expected. But 18a is a pan-up, and there's a very pronounced difference between the bottom half and the top half. The scene used alot of steam, hard to tell sometimes what was just steam and what was blurring on the part of the censors. But I think the blurring started in the second frame of this one bit, so I used the first frame... which still wasn't that clear.

Anyway. I guess that's all I have to say for now....

So. When UPN and the WB merged into the CW, the Saturday morning lineup remained Kids' WB. But next week that's changing to CW 4Kids. I don't really know quite what to expect. It should be pretty much the same for now, just a new name. But I had heard previously that they were going to stop having cartoons altogether, or something. In which case there seems little point in changing the name at all. So maybe this bodes well for the future. Maybe they won't stop with the cartoons. But then again, if they're going to be showing 4KidsTV stuff in the future, that might not be so great. But then again, 4KidsTV is currently on Fox. So... I dunno. It's all really weird and I dunno what to think at all. Time will tell, I guess.... But as long as they keep showing Spectacular Spider-Man, I'm happy. That's pretty much all I've been watching on Kids' WB since The Batman and LSH ended, anyway... These days on Saturday mornings most of my cartoons are on Cartoon Network...

Well, the main thing I've been doing today is reading through The Chaos, starting with chapter one. So far I've gotten though chapter four. Made some edits to each chapter as I went. Want to do more, but my eyes have grown weary. Still, I'm surprisingly happy with what I wrote so long ago. Seriously, I need to make myself work in earnest on this book much more often. And with many shows coming to a close for the season, hopefully I'll find more time to do so.

First thing I did when I woke up this morning was read a couple comics from FCBD, and I've some more yet to read. Also need to read Titans #2, which I picked up yesterday along with Titans East, as I said I might. and just now I read Buffy #14. The end of the issue... was absolutely heart-wrenching. I just can't believe it...

Well, so many things I'd like to do today. Stuff on the DVR that needs watching. Lots of things to do on my website. Etc. Never enough time. Such a shame. Ah, but once I've become a best-selling author and gotten rich, so I have my own place and no need to work, I should have time to catch up on everything....

First of all I want to say I realize the first part of the story that's continued in Titans #1 was in the Titans East special, which apparently came out last year. I guess. Maybe. But there's a copy at the comic shop so I think I'll pick that up today, possibly along with Titans #2, we'll see. I really shouldn't spend so much and also I'm not feeling good about jumping onto a new ongoing title. miniseries are one thing, but if I really get into this, it'll be my second currently ongoing title (along with Buffy season eight). And with DC you never know how many crossvers you could be getting yourself into. And of course there's gotta be tons of history I don't know anything about, from previous series or whatever. Still I've always felt I should learn abut the Titans beyond just the cartoon. And as I've said, the artwork is... sooooo... eye-meltingly good.

But anyway, about Dodgers. I've made some updates to the gallery over the past few days, and as I said awhile ago, I haven't been mentioning it here, because I'm waiting til I finish the whole gallery. Even though definitely I wanted to mention it every day. Well, it's not finished yet, but I just made a few caps of Tyr'Ahnee from today's ep, which is the first ep I saw just before starting the gallery a few weeks ago. Didn't make any caps of her at the time, I think I started the gallery with the ep that'll be rerunning day after tomorrow. I want to get through all the reruns of the rest of the series, even though I've seen them before... at least now I can fast-forward thru them instead of watching. Just check to see if I missed anything first time, or whatever. Six eps to go now. But what's prompted me to mention anything about the show today is that the DVD recorder has pissed me off. Did something it does on rare occasions, which is... when it should record a single track, for no apparent reason it'll split the recording into two tracks. And I ended up missing one thing I wanted to make a cap of. I made a slightly different cap which is okay, but mainly as a holding spot in case I ever get another chance at this ep. Because I deleted the recording on the DVR before I checked the DVD-R on the computer, fool that I am. But is it so wrong of me to expect technology to perform properly?

Don't answer that....

Well finally watched last saturday's ep of Bleach, which was the end of the Soul Society arc. Very fun, amusing episode, nice way to wind down from all the drama. And I'm looking forward to moving into the next arc. Meanwhile, caps from the episode which I've put in the Karakura gallery include Orihime 127a-131 and Ururu 30. Caps in the Soul Society gallery include Yachiru 56-57c, Rangiku 44 (a still plus an animation) to 47c, and Kukaku 36-39.

Well, that leaves 3 shows from saturday's adult swim that I still have to watch. Dunno that I'll get to it all today. Probably not. Actually I think I'm gonna take a shower and walk to Shaws before I do anything else....

comics and whatnot

Another thing I meant to say that I did on Tuesday or Monday or whenever it was, was that I set up a system of letters next to each gallery on my anime girls galleries index to label each one as "active" or "complete" or "hiatus" or whatever...

Today stopped into comic shop, where I got Sky Doll #1. Haven't read it yet but I look forward to it. Also got Serenity: Better Days #3. Kind of disappointed in this miniseries, and don't like the cover art on this issue. River and Kaylee look kind of... special. But still it's not that bad. And there'll be another miniseries, about Shepherd Book, later this year, which I'm quite looking forward to. Also saw issue 2 of a new "Titans" series, and it interested me, so I picked up issue 1. But not 2, yet. Anyway, read 1, and it looks good, though the title of the story says "part two," so I'm wondering if this is continued from some other book that I haven't read, or what. I dunno if I should even bother looking into it, the story seems a good enough jumping-in point as it is. I don't really know anything about regular Teen Titans comics, I just know the cartoon. but Trigon will be returning in this series, so it interests me sort of. Plus is lots of very hot girls. Oh my yes the eye candy... but while fun to look at, of course it also reminds me how bloody alone I am. Ah well.

There were at the shop a number of other things I was interested in but couldn't afford right now. An "Iron Manual" (ha), a Joker TPB, first issues of some other miniseries like Huntress and The Lost Boys. Might be best to wait for TPBs of those, not that I'll be able to afford those, either. But seriously, if a trade paperback of the whole Lost Boys mini comes out in time for Halloween, I'd probably pick it up then. And... I may be forgetting other things, I dunno.

Before work I got an avaocado wrap and kiwi/pear Snapple to eat in the park, and read a comic. Yay. And then work wasn't bad and miraculously I ain't depressed tonight. Nevertheless I am having a bit of Guinness which is awesome. And now I think I should watch some Jetstream before bed....

Edit: Watched Pokemon, made a couple caps of Jessie. Miltank sounded Japanese, that was cool. Watched Zatch Bell, made four caps of Megumi. Jetstream is getting really close to where the show left off on TV quite some time ago now. Seriously hope it'll continue to new stuff once it finally catches up... or perhaps it would even return to airing on TV, that'd be cool....

But I'll get to that in a bit. Let's see, yesterday... Beth drove me to work to get my check. But apparently I wasn't allowed to get it til 2, so I went back to my original plan to walk to the bank today. But I did buy some new socks yesterday. Trying them on now. Not bad. What else? After work watched How I Met Your Mother and Reaper. Good stuffs.

This morning slept in later than usual, which was something I wanted to do, but still it means I don't have much time to do anything, since I want to leave early of course. Bank, comic shop, maybe post office. Maybe some time to sit in the park and read before catching the bus to work. I was also thinking of walking to Shaws to get some things, but... so little time, and already plenty of other walking to do, so I guess I won't do that today.

Went down cellar to do laundry, discovered the machine is out of order, so... no laundry today. Ah well.

Probably forgetting all sorts of dreadfully important things, but whatevs, I wanted to get to this epiphany I had last night. See, I don't think things like social anxiety, depression, etc., were nearly as bad when I was a kid as they are now. Probably got a bit worse in high school, college, and later... so, aside from a few brief gaps where my mental state improved, I think it's been getting progressively worse, slowly, imperceptibly, throughout my life. So it makes me think maybe in the future, say 10 or 20 years from now, it could be full blown, unbearable... so I won't be able to get by in life at all. And I have mixed feelings about that. It scares me, but on the other hand, it's also something I've occasionally wished for....

Of course, I also think it might be nice to be a Spacer, like in Asimov's robot novels...

Anyway, I also wanted to mention that last night at work I had a cup of chamomile tea, which gave me the idea for this Hilarity 'n' Suze comic....

Ankle hurt like hell, made it hard to get to sleep, but eventually I did. This morning watched yesterday's Duck Dodgers, made some caps. Watched today's Duck Dodgers, considered making a few caps, but didn't. I think I won't mention this anymore til I've finished the gallery, which will probably be later this week, we'll see.

Watched Dragonball on Jetstream.
I've had that line in my head all day. Something Buffy said in the comic book. Anyway... walked to work today. It was nice out, and I had my mp3 player. Part of the time I listened to A Prairie Home Companion. Anyway, walking to work is definitely better than walking home from work. Stopped at Walmart as I needed to pick up some latex gloves for work, and also on a whim got some pocky and a Monster Java Russian. So now I gots $1.70 in my bank account, yay. Then to work, where I basically sat around for awhile waiting for it to be 4 o'clock so I could get a discount on some food. Which I could only afford cuz I brought in the remainder of the laundry quarters, since I knew Beth would be brining home some quarters from our parents.

And after I finished eating there was still plenty of time before 5 o'clock, but I ended up asking if I could clock in early, around 4:35 or so. Great Muppety Odin, was that place busy today. Got so damn frustrating, the work never seemed to end. But inevitably, it eventually did. By then both my ankles and feet were not feeling too good, let me tell you. And of course... the depression. You just don't fucking well understand how bloody much it hurts to want to be able to talk to people and just be so completely incapable of forcing yourself to do so.

Sometimes I think... I must have imagined ever having had a girlfriend. I think about how I am, the way my mind works, the way I am so incapable of human interaction, and then I think of things we did, once upon a time, and the two pictures just don't fit. It's fucking impossible that I was ever that close to someone. I must have hallucinated the whole experience. I'm just not capable of that. And never will be. For fuck's sake, I have enough goddamned trouble saying hi to a friend, how in hell can I... be intimate with anyone? It's like asking someone who literally cannot add two plus two to solve Fermat's last theorem.

Whatever. I got a ride home. Which is good. Had been planning on watching Duck Dodgers tonight, but I just needed to get online instead, a place that feels like home or something. Along with the quarters there's a Garfield poster from Dad, and some cash, which I appreciate though I also feel bad about receiving it. I don't deserve it. But... I reckon I could buy some new socks now. Been wanting to do that. I think some of my socks must have vanished, but then I also have thrown plenty out because they keep getting holes in them. Also maybe I could get some more beer. It's medicinal, okay? It's like my fucking prozac or whatever. Since I can't afford anti-depressants for reals, yo.

Also I not sure where my cane is at right now. It must be stoled! Is okay I can use crutches if I must. Now what to do... before bed.... I dunno. No one on the damn IM to talk to, maybe I'll watch Duck Dodgers after all. We'll see....

Edit: Oh look, I found my cane.

Well, 2 more eps of Inuyasha last night, so I made a bunch of caps for the gallery. One cap of Kagome's mom. Plus Kagome 41-55, lots of good stuff there, including some bathing. Yum. But then of course there was Yura of the Hair, been really looking forward to making caps of her. So now I have. 01-44c, and probably there will never be any more of her, I guess. But what's there is pretty great. Also, I haven't seen this since the first run of the series, so it's been a few years at least. I always remembered how hot Yura was, but I forgot her voice. She's played by Chiara Zanni, who I've heard in other stuff since these eps of Inuyasha first aired, but I really enjoyed her work as Molly in "Oban Star-Racers," so it was especially cool to not only see Yura again, but also recognize her VA this time around. (Perhaps a little disturbingly, you'll probably also recognize her as the voice of Hamtaro.)

Oh, also last night watched One Piece on Jetstream, and made caps 171a-174d of Nami. And... before Naruto there was this Lego Indiana Jones thing that was pretty cool. And... well, I still have a couple things to watch on Jetstream, I really should try to get to that before I leave for work today. And of course there's stuff on the DVR I won't get a chance to watch today. Oh well. And I should call Mom soon....

I hope I'm not forgetting anything dreadfully important. Oh yeah, added a new background to the Inuyasha gallery which you might wanna check out. But seriously... Kagome and Yura, both so delicious....

So, I got caught up on my gallery for the Buffy season 8 comic through issue 13, as well as writing up a bit of a review, finally (link to that at the top of the gallery). Not a very good review, but hey, at least it's done. For now. I'm sure I'll update eventually, when I've read more of the series. Speaking of which, now that this is done I can get around to reading issue 14, hopefully tomorrow but quite possibly not. And maybe scan some pics from it, we'll see. Already put up the cover of 14 in the gallery....

But you know, my eyes get so strained. And I take my glasses off and see just how abysmal my eyesight is. And I worry anew that sooner or later I'm bound to go blind. And then what bloody use will all my galleries be, which continually consume so much of my time? Time that would be better spent writing.... Ye gods, I can't imagine writing if I ever go blind.... Just one more reason I should do that now, while I still can. But alas... I can't pull myself away from all these distractions. Sigh.

Ah well, time for Naruto....

After work last night watched Saturday's Robin Hood. Nice to see Djaq showing her feminine side for a change. Then watched 30 Rock. Pretty decent. Season finale I think. Then Lost. Amazingly awesome. Then bed. Probly got around 4 hours sleep, went to the couch, didn't think I'd get back to sleep, but eventually did, happy with the amount of sleep I finally got, altogether. Watched Smallville which was pretty cool, and Supernatural also quite good even if there were bits I didn't want to watch. Next week is the season finale of both those shows. Be nice to have less stuff to watch. And of course, also today watched another episode of Duck Dodgers, and worked on the gallery for this ep as well as the last two eps. The season two 2-part finale, "Of Course You Know, This Means War and Peace" is the last subfolder under the season 2 folder, and the ep also provided caps 84a-98b of Queen Tyr'Ahnee. Then the first subfolder in season 3 is "Till Doom Do Us Part," and the episode also provided caps 99a-110b of Tyr'Ahnee. Ah yes, plenty of good stuffs...

So, I'm caught up with the DVR for now, aside from a few eps of Skyland. But of course tonight there's a coupe eps of Sarah Jane Adventures, plus Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica. And tomorrow is tons of shows. and um I still have a few things to watch on Jetstream. And... Beth's going up north to see the folks for Mother's Day. I'd kind of rather stay here, though I feel bad about that....

I downloaded a song. I thought it would be an mp3. But it was some other format. A format I can't play on anything but iTunes. And of course I can't load it onto my mp3 player, which is WHAT I BLOODY WELL BOUGHT IT TO DO. I never would've paid for this song if I knew I wouldn't be able to put it on my mp3 player. So then I tried to convert it to an mp3 with SUPER, but that wouldn't work. So I tried downloading an updated version of SUPER, but it wouldn't fully install. So now... I don't have any version of the program on my computer. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the old version back. Which I found very useful.

Sigh. Well, I can try to at least find the mp3 on Limewire or something. and not feel the remotest shred of guilt about downloading for free something I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR.

Well, yesterday I decided to walk to the redemption center. Made a buck ninety I think. Then walked to Shaws, where I got a bottle of pomegranate tea, plus a juice box of something called Zola that I want to try while watching "Blue Dragon," which has a character named Zola. So I should get to that Saturday. the tea I tried today, and it's pretty decent. Anyway, got back from the store maybe a couple of minutes later than i would've liked, so I had to catch the later bus. Got my check... still early, but I worried it might not be early enough to walk to the bank before it closed. But I got there just in time, like a few minutes before it closed. So yay.

Walked again to Subway, where I tried a pizza. Not bad at all. Got like 80 cents left on my gift card, now. Walked back to work. Put roll of quarters in my jacket, which I hadn't been wearing on the walk, since it was so warm out. And mang I tell you I hate carrying a roll of coins in my pants pocket. Not only is it heavy and uncomfortable, I also tend to worry what it might look like. Even if it ain't in the right spot.

Ahem. Anyway. Walked to walmart, mainly looking for stamps. But their machine was out of order. Thought about getting some other things, but the only thing I ended up getting was People's Most Beautiful issue. Then back to work. Which always has its ups and downs. And occasional psychological crises where I nearly snap, and really wish I could. But I don't. At least it led to a Hilarity n Suze comic when I got home.

Today watched Reaper, which I'd worried might not have recorded. But it did and it was awesome. And watched Sunday's Aliens in America. But I still have stuff from Saturday to watch. Oh, and I want to watch both today and tomorrow's Duck Dodgers tomorrow. Um... walked to the post office for stamps. Comic shop, picked up Buffy 14, which I may hold off on reading. Want to skim through the rest of the series to write up a review, if I find time. Also want to work on the gallery. And um, stopped in the Groceria, bought some Spring Ale which is already gone from walmart or other places, before I got a chance to try it. So look forward to having some of that. While there also picked up a package of espresso candy.

I expect I'm forgetting all sorts of dreadfully important things I wanted to mention. *shrug* Oh wells...

Had this idea at work... as usual, thinking how I wish I was weaker so I could just allow my sanity to snap, or something. Realized that since so much of my will power is taken up with staying sane and not killing myself, that could explain why it's hard to use any of that power for doing other things, like giving up beer, talking to people, writing, etc... Well, I had some other ideas. The strip ended up longer than i expected, and I think I included the main few points I wanted to make, but I worry I may have forgotten something I might've wanted to do in the last part of the series. *shrug* But maybe not. Actually I had been waiting for this ep to rerun, specifically so I could make caps of her flashback (11a-13). The twist for Loco is, she actually appears older in her flashback, because the darkness ARM she uses curse her... every time she uses them, she gets a bit younger, which is why she looks like a kid now.

Well, also made a few caps of Bell, Surprised 1a-c (1b was previously just "surprised 1"), and Worried 11. Also added 19a-b under the "Dorothy & Snow" folder.

1. Alien Wahines

Well, last night while drinking after work, I watched MAR on Jetstream, made some caps. I gotta put them in the gallery today, but I'm sure it's nothing worth mentioning, probably.

This morning watched Duck Dodgers. There are two more eps to go in season 2, though they're parts of a 2-parter. Then we get into season 3, the final season, and of course I had started the gallery halfway through that. So... should be just a little over a week til I finish the gallery. Anyway, I wanted to say that usually, there's some commercials on the DVR before the show starts. Yesterday I think the show started straight away, and I was a bit concerned because it didn't start with the theme song. But it turned out to be a teaser, and the theme came on after that. Then today, the show started in a scene, so I expected it must be another teaser... but the theme (and episode title card) never came on, so either the recording missed that (and for all I know missed potential caps, but probably not), or they just didn't do the theme. Which I very much doubt. Surely they wouldn't have skipped the title card, so... yeah, definitely missed at least a few seconds. But whatevs.

The episode in question, for those checking the gallery, is "Surf the Stars." There were a number of alien wahines I made caps of. The only ones who spoke were the pink and green ones. But there was also an orange one who kinda reminded me of Starfire from Teen Titans. Those are the main three you see, but there was also a blue one, and possibly a lavender one and maybe some repetitions of colors in extras... In 15a and b, there's pink, blue, lavender, orange, green, green. In 16a-c, Dodgers is being lifted by four of them, green, blue, pink, and orange. Then in the final cap, 17, the Cadet is sitting with two green wahines. Clearly the two from 15b. And yet one of those two, the one who appears in a number of other scenes throughout the episode, is apparently the same one who is among the group lifting Dodgers. Which is at the exact same time as the cap with the Cadet. Don't you agree that's strange enough for me to have devoted the bulk of this paragraph to telling you about it?

Anyway, the other story in this ep was "Samurai Quack," which has always been one of my favorite episodes, a parody of "Samurai Jack." Mako guests as both Dodgers' alarm clock "Happy Cat" and, in a toxin-induced dream, the evil wizard Ah-choo. When I first saw the episode, I don't think I'd seen much of the series, so I didn't realize, as I have come to do since I started watching reruns in recent weeks, that the Happy Cat alarm clock (and Mako) appears several times in the series. It's neat, but of course also sad because hearing Happy Cat always reminds me that Mako's gone... Well, anyway, no caps from that ep....
